RWANDA’S PRIMATES

Rwanda is home to three endangered primates: Mountain Gorillas, Chimpanzees, and Golden Monkeys. Rwanda is committed to conservation and ethical tourism to protect these primates and as such, visitation is strictly limited to 1-hour. However, to be in the presence of these primates as they go about their daily lives living freely in the forests, is nothing short of magnificent

Day 1 – Arrive Kigali International Airport. Meet & Greet and transfer to your hotel. Overnight at The Retreat.

Day 2 – City tour and visit Hôtel des Mille Collines (Hotel Rwanda) and the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Drinks on the lawn with views of Kigali at Choose Kigali, an art gallery and space. Overnight at The Retreat.

Day 3 – Depart on RwandAir flight to Kamembe. Transfer to One&Only Nyungwe House for lunch and continue to Nyungwe National Park. Canopy Walk, a suspension bridge located 70m above the rainforest. Overnight at One&Only Nyungwe House.

Day 4 – Chimpanzee Trek. Overnight at One&Only Nyungwe House.

Day 5 – Leisurely morning. Transfer to Kibuye. Boat tour on Lake Kivu to Monkey Island and Nepoleon Island. Overnight at Cleo Lake Kivu Hotel.

Day 6 – Transfer to Musanze and visit The Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Fund with an 11-year veteran Volcanoes National Park Guide followed by a private talk. Overnight at Bisate Lodge.

Day 7 – Mountain Gorilla Trek. Overnight at Bisate Lodge.

Day 8 – Golden Monkey Trek. Transfer back to Bisate Kwanda Lounge for lunch, and transfer to Kigali International Airport.
