RWANDA CULTURE + PRIMATES

Day 1 – Arrive Kigali International Airport. Overnight at Marriott Kigali.

Day 2 – Nyamirambo Community Tour to experience the every-day life and challenges women face, their community, and employment at a fair wage. and the centre’s allowing them the opportunity to be a part of a community and employment. City tour including Kigali Genocide Memorial. Private Rwandan Dance class to learn of the amarbara dance styles and techniques, and Rwanda drumming.

Day 3 – Morning flight on RwandAir to Kamembe. Visit the Rwanda/D.R. Congo border. Transfer to Nyungwe House for lunch and continue toNyungwe Forest National Park for the Canopy Walk, a suspension bridge located 70 metres above the forest’s ground. Overnight at One&Only Nyungwe House.

Day 4 – Morning Chimpanzee Trek. Evening tour in Nyungwe rainforest with flashlights to view nocturnal ‘creatures’. Overnight at One&Only Nyungwe House.

Day 5 – Leisurely morning. Transfer to Kibuye and visit local communities to learn about rural life. Sunset boat tour on Lake Kivu and meet the Singing Fisherman as they begin their night fishing on Lake Kivu. Overnight at Cleo Lake Kivu Hotel.

Day 6  – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park. Visit The Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund with an 11-year veteran Volcanoes National Park guide and private educational talk, and stories, of the Mountain Gorillas, Golden Monkeys, and Dian Fossey. Evening Cultural Performance of Rwandan singing, drumming, and dancing. Overnight at Amakoro Songa Lodge.

Day 7 – Mountain Gorilla Trek. Cultural village walk and visit to a rural primary school. Overnight at Amakoro Songa Lodge.

Day 8 – Golden Monkey Trek. Transfer back to lodge to freshen up and have lunch before continuing back to Kigali.
